It is a very quick and simple work to check the burn out of LED lamps. However, the systematic maintenance of exterior lamps is not so simple. Timely maintenance of exterior lamps is very important for drivers, because it not only affects the comfort of driving, but also directly related to the reliability of driving. Usually, before being reminded, it is difficult for car owners to realize that the headlights, tail lights, cornering lights or parking lights can no longer work normally. Incidentally, the work of replacing burned out bulbs is very simple, and the cost of DIY is lower than the charging standard for lighting system maintenance in the maintenance station.

More often, the failure of the lamp is not limited to small problems such as bulb burn out, socket corrosion or plug damage. Professional diagnostic technology is often needed to analyze the root cause of the failure. Even for those low-cost cars, the internal and external lamps are controlled by the host computer. For those luxury cars, only their headlights are controlled by three computers.
If your car is equipped with DRL, you must first understand the working principle of these devices. For example, some daytime running lights cannot be turned on before the engine is started; There are also some daytime running lights. If the parking brake has not been cancelled, even if the engine has been started, the daytime running lights still can not work normally. If the vehicle is equipped with a light controlled lamp (that is, when the external light is dim to a certain extent, the system has the function of automatically turning on the headlights), you may wish to check the operation of the lamp in the process of light sensitivity from weak to strong. Of course, do not ignore the check of the automatic shutdown timer. If the system is equipped with a timer, set it to the maximum delay.
If the headlamp is damaged, it is usually replaced with similar lamps. Some cars are equipped with high intensity discharge headlamp hid, which generates high-density light source through high-voltage arc discharge generated by its pre designed electronic system. Note that ordinary quartz halogen bulbs cannot be used here. In addition, check whether the headlamp has cracks, because although the surface cracks will not affect the lighting performance of the headlamp, moisture will penetrate into the lamp along the cracks, which will inevitably reduce the service life of the bulb.
The calibration of headlamp illumination direction shall also be included in the list of maintenance items, because in order to ensure the driver's driving reliability, the headlamp must be able to provide good forward lighting for the driving vehicle.
While grasping the key, don't forget to check other lamp systems, such as turn signal lamp, license plate lamp, side marker lamp, parking lamp, reversing lamp and brake lamp (including middle high brake lamp CHMSL). In addition, many vehicles also use fog lamps as standard equipment or popular options. Fog lamps are generally installed at a lower position on the vehicle, so they are very vulnerable to stone damage. When maintaining them, in addition to checking the lighting system itself, the cracks of the lamps should not be ignored.
